Outcome
Located at one of Canada’s busiest shopping centres, Double Zero Chinook redefines mall dining. With over 10,000 square feet to work with, FRANK created two separate experiences: a casual market-style chef’s pantry on the main level and a full-service restaurant and lounge above.
Strong patterns throughout, highly considered millwork details, and classic touches such as marble-lined communal tables, open shelving, and an eclectic mix of seating and lighting reflect the artisan quality of Double Zero’s carefully curated menu. The walls are lined with photographs that include shots of friends of Double Zero as well as Calgary’s food community having fun with pizza ingredients, further enhancing the family feel of the restaurant.
In addition to the beautiful aesthetic and functional quality of the space, the project also had an extensive exterior scope including the design and detailing of building envelope materials, glazing and signage. The exterior of Double Zero has become a beacon for the north corner of Chinook Centre on MacLeod Trail S.W.
